Inner Dolpo Trek - 24 Days

Trek route combined of upper Dolpo and Chharka Bhot Trek is referring Inner Dolpo Trek. This trek route is lead inner side of Dolpo like Namgung, Saldang, Shemen and Tinje villages with Chharka Bhot. This challenging adventure treks starts in Juphal and ends in Jomsom. Those who want to trek this region need very good physical. Inner Dolpo part is section of Alpine route of The Great Himalaya Trail.

This Trek is hard and very few travelers crossed this tough land. Inner Dolpo people are culturally Buddhist and connected with Tibetan Nomad. Their history says that they were migrated to Nepal many centuries before; settled here Dolpo and changed full Nomadic life to semi Nomadic life. Shey Gompa, is the most important in Upper Dolpo where twice a year pilgrim make a circuit of holy Crystal Mountain (Shelri Gang) it is the younger sister of holy Mount Kailash in Tibet. Mount Kailash have two brothers and two sisters another one is holy Mount Shelmo Gang in Humla.

About Dolpo was first written by David Snelgrove in his book titled "Himalayan Pilgrimage" and more recently by Peter Matthiessen in "The Snow Leopard". This region was used as the location for Eric Valli’s superb film “Himalaya”.
